How to Install the New Official Blogger Contact Form

Wow! New improvement to our beloved blogging platform, Blogger.com. Seriously, I am loving blogger everyday, I have a WordPress blog and hosting, and I can build as much websites on WP as I want, but there's something special in blogger and their improvement is something else. I remember blogger launching that option for permalinks which enables you to make the most of posts' URLs, they also launched Blogger Wikipedia search box, and a G+ Comment for Blogger. Awesome isn't it?

I heard a romour about this update, that blogger will launch a contact form - this was about two months ago or so, normally I doubted, but the proves that backed up the claim made me believe that it will truly come to reality, but I didn't really worry about its release, cos I use Foxyform Contact form for readers' messages which works just fine. Let's see how the piece works.

blogger contact form

How the New Blogger Contact form Works

There's no much thing to it, a reader who wants to contact you can do so by entering his name, email address, and message into the blogger contact form and hits SEND - The blog owner will receive the message via the email used for creating the blog. You can see how it looks on the image above. As of now, the contact form can be placed only on a blog's sidebar or footer. But I may write about how to place the blogger contact form on a contact page. :)

How to Install the Contact Form

Kindly follow the simple guide below to install the new blogger contact form to your blog.

 • Visit blogger.com and sign in
 • While on the dashboard
 • Click on "More options"
 • Click on "Layout"
 • Click "Add a gadget", a window pops up
 • Click on the "More Gadgets" tab on the left
 • Click on Contact Form and Save

With that we're done, I hope this was helpful. What's your take on this? Let's hear you on the comment. Cheers!

BlackBerry R10 Touch Gestures Video Leaks

One of the world's most exclusive mobile developers, Blackberry are indeed working hard, and its no doubt that that's one of the awesome reasons why their are strictly on the top list of the mobile market.

They are yet to officially confirm the launch of the R10 BB model as their next smartphone in the BlackBerry 10 revamp, hmm... Trust BB lovers, BB ardents are already planning to get the said Blackberry R10, don't be surprise. Seriously, a growing number of users are interested in picking up a device that has been touted as a ‘budget’ version of the Q10 – a QWERTY based device that will offer an alternative to the already-available BlackBerry Z10.

blackberry r10 front back pics

Upon the mystery surrounding BB R10 in respect of official information, a leaked video has emerged of the elusive device, appearing to show some of the touch-based gestures that will be available on the R10 upon release. The R10 is also going to feature a physical QWERTY keyboard like the Q10, although hardware specs are likely to be toned down to accommodate a cheaper market price than the Q10.

To recap, rumored features so far include a 3.1-inch 720×720 display and 5-megapixel camera, compared to an 8 megapixel camera and 1080p video capabilities on the Q10. The video, which we've included above shows a very brief walk through of some of the gestures that will be available – including a look at what the drop down notifications menu will look like. See the video below, when you're done don't forget to mention your take on this on the comment and kindly subscribe for updates.

404 vs. 410: what Google prefers

This is a recurring question. Should I put up a 410 instead of a 404 for my non-existing pages? Is 410 better than 404?

Firstly, you should know that there is no preference to have on these two codes, for the simple reason that each http response corresponds to a particular case. These two codes do not mean the same thing, there is therefore, strictly speaking, just no reason to make a choice. You must return one or the other as needed.

Then they still have a point of convergence: Beyond the fact that they belong to the same family of codes http (4xx) ;), the two codes are used to tell the user (web surfers) or the robot (crawler) which ask them the question, that the page they intend to visit does not exist / more. We immediately see the benefit in terms of SEO.

You'd love this: How to Use Gmail Offline

And finally, in a post on the help forum to Google webmaster, John Wu (famous Googler), confirmed that Google previously treated the two responses codes in the same way. But, in view of their use by webmasters, this has changed to the extent that Google would prefer a response code 410 rather than 404

“I Followed up on the 404 vs 410 thing with the team here. As mentioned by some others here & elsewhere, we have generally been treating them the same in the past. However, effective looking at how webmasters use them in practice we are now treating in the 410 HTTP result code as a bit "more permanent" than a 404. So if you're absolutely safe. That a page no longer exists and will never exist again, using a 410 would Likely be a good thing.”

Having said this, do not rush to break your server configuration to return 410 in every way, I think that this preference is only superficial and that it is not worth it to change all your settings. He says so himself: "This is not worth to break it, but if you were to re-configure your servers, it would be a good practice to implement."

« I don’t think it’s worth rewriting a server to change from 404 to 410, but if you’re looking at that part of your code anyway, you might as well choose the “permanent” result code if you can be absolutely sure that the URL will not be used again. If you can’t be sure of that (for whatever reason), then I would recommend sticking to the 404 HTTP result code.

In the worst case, the 410 will be treated the same as a 404; in the best case it’ll be a bit quicker&stickier »

It is essential to be sure that the page will no longer exists ever to return this code.

Meaning of HTTP and SEO

For those who are interested, here are the definitions of the two return codes http. This will serve to understand in which case we can use them and what is the potential impact in terms of SEO

Http code 404

The server informed us that the page that you ask him is unknown. It is therefore impossible to refer you a satisfactory answer.

Http code 410

The server informs you that the page you requested is known but that it is impossible to return it to you because it has been deliberately removed from the results. He also informed us that he will never be able to return an answer with this Uri. There is therefore a real subtlety and that each of these codes is suitable for a particular situation.

My recommendations:

 • In the daily management of your site, I recommend you to leave the 404 (for now because I think there is no real gain to use a 410)
 • If you made a cleaning of your site, so you will actually show your willingness to "cleaner" your site. In this case, a 410 will say to the engines: I know this page but I deliberately deleted it.

Why PayPal May Strictly Ban you and How to Prevent Them

PayPal sucks! Lots of people say. But I don’t see it that way, even if they blocked my account, leaving me with no option to retrieve it, and even if they've restricted several countries including my country, Nigeria. I still understand that the company is keen to protect its reputation and thus; keeping their business alive and going. Everything said earlier will look strange to a reader who don't know what PayPal is.

PayPal Frozen

What is PayPal

PayPal is an online money acquirer, or money broker. They happen to be the most used acquirer around the world online, regular internet surfers will bear me witness on this. They perform payment for online vendors, auction sites, and other commercial users. But what makes it different from other acquirers is that, it is widely used by most companies and firms online.

Why you should Protect your PayPal Account against Limitations

Since PayPal is an acquirer which keeps money, it will only be best to protect your account. If you've got money on your PayPal account and go against any of its TOS, I’m sorry but PayPal will limit your account, they may give you some resolution option, so you can regain your account fully but that's 50/50 and not guaranteed, especially if you’re not from one of the restricted countries. You should protect your account against any form of PayPal limitation cos; when you’re limited, you wont be able to transfer money, if you've got some money in it, it may be ceased. With these in mind, lets quickly outline some basic reasons why PayPal may block you.

Why Paypal may Limit your Account

According to Steve at MyWifeQuitherJob.com, he said; After talking to my PayPal rep for over 30 minutes, they reassured me that it’s extremely rare that they ever place holds on user accounts. They also told me that there were no limits on my account whatsoever and that I could process as much money as I wanted to in any given day. When I brought up the stories about my blogging friends and how they had their accounts frozen, the representative assured me that the reasons for limiting an account vary greatly from user to user and largely depends on the situation.

Under the following circumstances, Paypal has certain triggers in place as a safeguard against fraud. Here are some reasons why some of these safeguards might be triggered

 • You've received an abnormally large amount of money in your account that is way above your average
 • Someone has filed a complaint to Paypal about your business
 • A series of chargebacks have been placed against your account
 • Your website has questionable content
 • You are in violation of Paypal’s use policy. For example if you sell drugs or anything illegal, you may get banned
 • Your account information is not up to date or your account is not fully verified
 • Someone has logged into your Paypal account from a strange location.
 • Your credit score is low or something with your background history makes you a higher risk customer
 • They have detected fraudulent activity on your account.

How to Prevent Paypal from Limiting your Account

Towards the end of my conversation with PayPal, they assured me one last time that only a very small fraction of a percent of people get their accounts frozen and that accounts are rarely frozen for the full 180 days. They also recommended the following guidelines to greatly reduce the chances of this happening.

 • If you are expecting to receive a large sum of money, then you should call Paypal ahead of time so they expect to see the extra funds. In other words, if you are planning a large product launch, make sure you let them know ahead of time
 • When you first signup for Paypal Website Payments Pro, there’s a survey that you have to take. Make sure that you check off higher numbers in terms of how much money you anticipate making every month
 • Contact Paypal to make sure that your account is not limited in any way in terms of how much money you can accept per day. Sometimes limits are placed depending on various factors relating to your credit history or background checks
 • Make sure your name or the name of your business is on your Paypal account and that it exactly matches your bank account and credit cards.
 • Use the exact same addresses and phone numbers that match your bank account and credit cards
 • Always use trackable methods of shipping if you ship physical goods in case a dispute is filed against you
 • Make sure that your FEIN or social security number exactly matches the name of your business on the account
 • Link both a credit card and a bank account to Paypal

Does This Sound Like Too Much Trouble?

Here’s the bottom line how I see it. If you are in the business of selling informational or digital goods and your revenues are extremely lumpy, then I would go with a regular merchant account and gateway like Merchant Plus. If you have low credit scores or any history of fraud or criminal activity, then go with a regular merchant account and gateway like Merchant Plus. If you never want to deal with the possibility of getting your account frozen or limited, then go with a regular merchant account and gateway.

How to Auto Open all External Links in New Windows or Tabs

Today, I'll walk you through the simple guide on how to open all external links in new windows. Blogger editor gives you an option which you can use to add a blank target attribute to links without coding, that way; when a user click on the link, it will open in a new window or tab. The attribute works for both internal and external links. In this tutorial, I wont only teach you how to add blank attribute to individual links (whether internet or external) only, but I'll also teach you how to make all external links open in new windows automatically.

Open external links in new wondow

Why Blank Attribute is Worth it.

Since blank attribute let links open in new windows, it can help prevent bounce rate drastically, and protect a site's visitors against distractions. There are times when you'd link to other related pages in an article, if users decide to click on the link to see what's therein before having to finish reading the actual article, the link will load on the page. This may not mean anything serious to you, but whether your website's users are newbies or not; it is disturbing to have a page load on the one you're still reading. If this happens and a user wants to go back to the previous page, it becomes tedious and tiresome. The worst of it all is; they get distracted, and may not even have to come back.

How to Manually Add Blank Target to Links Without Coding

WordPress does not have the automatic function for this, so what you do is switch to the HTML section of your editor and add the target to the link, this method is also useful to blogspot blogger. But let's see how blogspot bloggers can add the blank target to links without coding, after that, we'll look into how you can do it from the HTML section.

 • While on your editor, highlight the string of texts you want to hyperlink
 • Having done that, click on the Link option which is found among the vertical menus

 • A window pops up - there you can enter URL, and activate the blank attribute. See the image below:

Kindly click on the image below to get a better view of it

 • If you have entered all the necissary option, click Save and that's it.

Manual process for both WordPress And Blogspot Users

 • After hyperlinking a text on your Editor
 • Switch to the HTML section
 • Press Ctrl+F on your keyboard and find the string of texts (anchor text) or URL.
 • Add this code: target'blank' or this: target"_blank" to the link. See example below:

 • Here's a default link: String of text
 • Here's another example: Anchor Text
 • Yet another example: Text shown

Now I add the blank target to it

 • <a href="http://www.URL.comtarget'blank'>String of text
 • <a href="URLtarget'blank'>Anchor Text
 • <a href="linktarget'blank'>Text shown

With that attribute on your links, it will open on a new window or tab. Now let's go learn how to make all external links open in new windows automatically.

Note: The red string of texts (target'blank') in the link is the blank attribute which makes the link open in new window or tab

Open all External Links in New Window Automatically

 • From your blogger dashboard
 • Click on "More options"
 • Click "Template"
 • Click "Edit HTML"
 • Press Ctrl+F on your keyboard and find:

 • Paste the following code right above the tag:

With that correctly done, Save your theme, go add a link to your site, it may be on a post, a sidebar or footer, in-fact anywhere on your site. Whether or not you add the blank attribute to the link, it will open in a new window or tab when anyone clicks on it.

With all that in place we're done. Make sure to subscribe to WorldWebSurfers.com for more breathtaking info. Cheers!

Must Read: In Quest of Sweeping out Mosquitoes, People Were Swept along [Dying]

There's barely a person that does not know that Nigeria is one of the countries that has the most mosquitoes in the world. Nigeria government on the other hand are not helping matters. The increase of mosquitoes and silence of the government has led to increase of malaria and increase in death. But just recently we saw some girls on green dresses like a waistcoat but not actually waistcoats.

One of them came to give us a card and explained that the government are giving out mosquito nets, in quest of rolling out mosquitoes and kicking away malaria. To our greatest surprise; the giving date came and net were really shared to everyone who got the card, we've never known Nigeria government for that. They have never fulfilled a decision. With this we thought Nigeria betterment is by the way.

The net is an insecticide, so everyone was advice to air their nets for at least one day. NO BE SAY DEM NO ADVICE DEM O, DEM ADVICE DEM. But one of the families that got the net went straight to use their own that morning, they didn't even wait till the night.

Tell you what: we got a report that the mosquito net is really active and is killing mosquitoes seriously but the problem is that; the family that used their net in the morning were also dying along with mosquitoes from the other end of my street. Right now they're in the hospital, the doctors are doing their best to revive them and we pray God bring them back to life. If to say government know, them for no give out nets o; them give net na wahala, dem no give net na still wahala. Na wa for Ng o.

Note: The bottom line of this story is true but you must not use the info in any serious way, as it was hyped.

Make sure to check out: Akpos and Seyi Law meets, Casala come burst.
